Robert is a member of Oil Painters of America, the California Art Club, Plein Air Painters of Idaho, the South Africa Society of Artists, and a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society. Robert is represented exclusively by Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah in the United States and by Absolut Art in Willowbridge Life Style Center, South Africa.
Robert began studying painting full time in 1994, after living and working in Alaska for many years. He divides his time between Sun Valley, Idaho and Franschhoek, South Africa. Painting destinations in 2010 include South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia.
For the past several years, Robert has been mentoring a young man from Zimbabwe, Alex Zinhanga, who is now living as a political refugee in South Africa.
Robert`s paintings have received attention in museum shows, gallery exhibits, and national competitions. In the summer of 2006, Robert served as the artist in residence at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming. He is a contributor to the Museum`s annual fall show, Western Visions Miniatures and More.
